I haven't had much motivation to post anything till recently. It's got me really hot and bothered.
Recently in Singapore there's been some furore over Singaporeans vs Foreigners which started a 'curry day' where everyone comes together to well eat curry.
My issue is nothing to do with curry or foreigners.
It's with Singaporeans.
Having a Singapore passport is not a free pass to being an ARSE.
Just claiming to join the curry bandwagon isn't saying or showing anything. You can make and eat curry but you could still be calling all indians "apu na na", is that being tolerant?
Sure because I challenge the very notion of "tolerance".
What does "tolerance" mean?
tolerance (of/for somebody/something)the willingness to accept or tolerate somebody/something, especially opinions or behaviour that you may not agree with, or people who are not like you

Case in point - it means to ENDURE. It does not however mean that you accept. And that my friends is my issue. We've been an immigrant led nation for 46 years, we've been a so-called multi-racial, multi-religion nation for 46 years.
But how many of us, truly, I mean truly accept each other for who we are?
I'm talking about discrimination of race, religion, gender, size, financial status, health and of course nationality.
1. Anti foreigner sentiment
- Our forefathers all came to this country as foreigners. remember you never started as a singaporean. it takes generations before full integration can occur and that applies to foreigners in our country now.
- If you are willing to motivate your children to be nurses, zookeepers, janitors, truck drivers then so be it we can move away from foreigners in this country but so long you are not, jolly well get used to the culture YOU created.
- Again having the Singapore passport is NOT a free pass to being an ARSE.
Let's talk about discrimination within the four races and the religions we have within our own country. Are you ready to move on from being "tolerant" to truly accepting another individual regardless of sexuality preference, race, religious preference and so on? Let's tackle those issues first before moving on to attacking foreigners who want to be in this country to make something of themselves.
if you're so unhappy, why not move out to some other country that may suit your needs better? Coz I certainly don't want to be surrounded by people who discriminate others based on their nationality or otherwise.
