MiscellaneousSigh I was relatively in a good mood the past coupla days n now back to misery.
damn man ppl have asked why i put myself thru this.
honestly i dunno. the qns keeps ringing in the back of my mind as well but at the same time i wanna be able to prove that i can stick it out.
but is it worth it?
when u no longer have time for anyone else?
its times like these when u realise how important it is to have people in your life you can relate to or are comfortable with.
i am looking forward to my frens coming back from overseas to spend time with them.
but other than that stuff is pretty much downhill.
contemplation about the future and so forth are juz some of the heavy stuff thats weighing me down.
funny how i used to hold certain beliefs so steadfast within me and now suddenly i'm questioning myself and nothing is steadfast anymore.

guess time really does change you.
you know how people say with age comes experience and so forth rite? so juz coz ur older ur supposed to be more hmmm how would i say this knowledgable? (i dislike the word mature considering it is not particularly definative and highly subjective to the individual)
a number of people have mentioned to me that age is a factor. and it is constantly brought up be in relationships or friendships.
but is it really?
I think its not so much with age comes experience but the quality of experience.
I would say a 12 year old in Ethopia having undergone the hardships or famine and poverty would be more worldly wise as compared to myself or someone older living in Singapore.
I know people my age who think and behave in ways in which I believe are abominable and personally I think my 13 year old nephew has more cow sense that those doofuses.
I agree in most instances people have more experience with age. But do these experiences qualify them to believe themselves superior to you as they are older?
i don't believe in this respecting your elders and wat not.

anyway i was reading the papers today (gasp! shock! roll over in laughter? yea yea get over it) and found this interesting email interview with this guy named Paul Tan who's a law student with NUS he got to be an exchange student at NYU (my dream school with the BEST programs in liberal arts,law etc) and he shed light on issues like the one about not being open about sex and educating gays about safe sex and so forth. I liked the manner in which he presented himself. Think he'd make a great MP. and they did ask him how'd he'd like it if he was "invited to tea" meaning be an MP and he was quite receptive. so i'd say he's definitely on their radar now. With ppl like him & Vivian Balakrishnan I think our political party may have some hope after all. oh n Indranee Rajah rocks as well! bloody awesome lady!
Now I'm not too sure about this Eunice Olsen being an NMP coz I think celebrities shouldn't be leading the people in this way. Juz look at Arnold Governor of Cali...a running joke I tell ya. No doubt I know nothing much about her and so forth but perhaps i hold a grudge against her as i didn't want her as the wheel of fortune gal in the first place. sth abt her annoys me. oh well not that my opinion about her will change anything.

Seems to me like there's a sort of fever spreading among the singaporean public.
the idol fever.
its all anyone seems to wanna talk abt.
personally i'd rather yawn & say goodnite.
no i'm not a fan. it pains me to watch it. i have watched bits & pieces while waiting for other shows.
my take is that well, singapore idol is truly pathetic.
my first gripe starts with the judges. listen to their comments & you juz know these people are not qualified to be offering their comments in the first place.
there's such a difference when u watch american idol / world idol and malaysian idol. those judges comes straight to the point & you KNOW they know what their talking about.
den u look at the contestants. GEEZ man.
yea they can kinda hold a tune. but being an idol is not juz being able to hold a tune man. half of singapore can do that. its the whole package plus having a freaking power voice. ur voice has gotta shine more than anything.
the singapore contestants choose songs which are not suited to their voice.
now i dunno abt u, but when i watch this i think can any of them compete in world idol.
i gotta say NO
all of them are quite a disgrace. makes me wanna disown my citizenship man.
indonesian idol came out in the news the winner. DAMN MAN her voice juz blew me away.
malaysian idol jacyln victor , damn my fren sent me some clips of her n her voice is so damn powerful plus versatile ranging from rock to ballads. its awesome.
den we look at fantasia barrino who i think has a really good voice plus the capability to pull a song off.
but i look at the remaining contestants olinda/taufik/daphne/slyvester.
man its bad man.

daphne...i dunno juz dun like her same goes for the rest

olinda, maia etc why do they have such nice english names but their siblings have typical chinese names? did they re-name themselves or their parents forgot to give english names to the rest of the clan??
basically singapore idol doesn't bother me particularly.
now american idol 4 will be startin in jan 2005. hopefully singapore brings it in soon. coz american idol auditions are over n done with. woohoo

is gonna be in my face for another 4 damn years.
argh.
luckily the US president can only serve two terms add another 4 years and i'll be in perpetual mourning.
i join my lecturers in the mourning the loss of any potentially better leader as compared to the jackass bush.
as much as i hate him i gotta say he has more charisma as compared to kerry.
anyway i juz watched the virgin suicides. which i thot was pretty darn amazing movie. n sad as well.
people don't realize that suicides is sth we need to deal with. i do feel strongly abt this because so many people be it teens or otherwise feel that death is their only option. sumtimes all they need is a show of care or concern from even a stranger to make them feel less alone in this fucked up world.

if bush wins. i'm wearing black when i go to the US man. mourning. ( my american lecturer wore a black band on his hand to show mourning when bush took office. WAHAHAHA. good one prof!)
but one of the major faults which my politics lecturer pointed out was that alot of US citizens do not vote.
but i would like to say KUDOS to the celebrities like eminem's song "mosh" as well as "wake up everybody" by various artistes like mary j. blige/ wyclef/ brandy/ missy elliot/ eve/ fabolous etc all promoting voter turnout! as well as campaign by mtv.com all targetting the youths who need to take a stand and VOTE.
dammit it affects the whole fuckin world get off your ass and fucking vote!

interesting movie TRAINSPOTTING released in 1996. ewan mcgregor looks fuckin' hot. but i gotta say the toilet scene full of crap IS FUCKIN GROSS! man i almost threw up my peanuts. couldn't even watch properly had to cover my eyes. EEEEWWWW.
