this movie juz cemented my admiration for michael moore. a classmate told me this docu-movie beat fahrenheit 9/11 hands down. so of course i had to check it out myself.

this is left me speechless. he explores the issue of the columbine shooting and why america has more than 10 000 gun related crimes a year as compared to any other country in the world.
did you know Canada, juz beside this huge nation has its citizens owning close to 7 million guns. thats alot of guns and has juz 63 gun related crimes or was it 39? ppl in canada don't even lock their door!

he talks abt the culture of fear in the united states. sth which i believe the bush admin is playing up. its a country filled with paranoia. the media...it shocks me...

is it coz america has had a blood stained history? well i studied their history and it has alot of blood on its hands but as compared to germany (they exterminated 12 mill during hitler's time) and britain when they were pretty much ruling most of the world.

there are juz so many issues which makes me look at the united states with new eyes. i say its a country with so many holes that need so many patches its amazing. how the canadians see the united states is also interesting.

i find this so interesting perhaps coz i went to the US for my holz and than after that went to canada and back to the US. its scary how different these countries ah. they are juz beside each other. something like m'sia and singapore but cast in a totally different light.

very shocking docu-movie.
almost leaves you dumbfounded.

if ya can grab the vcd or sth. but not for those times if ya dun wanna think.
coz it makes u think alot.

Never particularly knew the difference between

envy and jealousy.

ENVY:
-A feeling of grudging admiration and desire to have something possessed by another
-Spite and resentment at seeing the success of another (personified as one of the deadly sins)

JEALOUSY:
-Showing extreme cupidity; painfully desirous of another's advantages
-Suspicious or unduly suspicious or fearful of being displaced by a rival

Hmmm this idea of jealousy or envy its actually very dangerous. Seen it many times in various crimes, in television shows and well in reality. It's a scary emotion isn't it?

The Chinese show at 9pm "room in my heart", yea Fiona Xie doesn't look so damn bimbotic with her new hairstyle. But anyway I digress. How these two people were in my mind "unduly suspicious of being displaced by a rival". Cos of this emotion caused them to do stuff which ultimately hurt someone they really loved. I think jealousy/ envy if ur not careful can really ruin ur rationality n eventually coz a major upset in ur life.

Even in reality people are envious of each other. To one it may be nothing, to another it might be seen as a form of "success" and they start feeling spite and resentment. Once they feel that, no amount of telling them otherwise will change their minds. N all these schemes of how to hurt another person start to be concocted in their mind. Its scary. Cos perhaps sometimes the person who they feel envious of doesn't even realize it, n den suddenly finds that innocent person ends up being hurt / betrayed / played out by people they thought they could trust. Sigh.

No wonder envy is one of the seven sins. But I admit in today's world it's hard to be completely voice of some form of jealousy and envy, but let us not act upon such feelings. Emotions which could potentially hurt another person, for no other reason den ur own inability to accept that not everyone in this world was born equal, neither will we be given equal opportunities. Dats life for u. totally and completely unfair.

n despite juz having won a damn ass hard race he lead his team for the 4X200m freestyle totally kicking australia's beeg fat ass. he barely had enough rest but he lead the team by such a great distance it totally gave them the advantage.

gorgeous body. cute ass smile. n great talent.
see why i adore him?

EDWIN MCCAIN - I`LL BE LYRICS

Tell me that we belong together
Dress it up with the trappings of love
I`ll be captivated, I`ll hang from your lips
Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above

I`ll Be your cryin` shoulder
I`ll Be love suicide
I`ll Be better when I`m older
I`ll Be the greatest fan of your life

i hope to have a shoulder to cry on one day. must be nice.

never particularly believed in the friday the 13th myth.
its always gone pretty smooth for me on these days. HOWEVER, there was an exception today.

my blood pressure probably skyrocketed.

i'm SO fucking furious.

and guess who my immense fury is targeted at?

ME.

i can't believe i screwed myself over by allowing myself to be screwed over.

fucking pissed.

u'd think after years of being screwed over i'd learn sth....but NO i'm too damn smart for that i screwed myself over instead of letting someone else do it for me.

i'd say i'm going into hibernation but as my dear ol' fren pointed out to me today i'm ALREADY in hibernation....

ARGH.

dunno whether u guys have heard of the movie barbershop it was a US box office hit for a while n did so well they made a sequel outta the scenes they wanted to cut from the first movie. its damn ass funny abt black ppl talkin politics etc in a barbershop. the guy who acts as Ricky -Michael Ealy fucking cute man.

wat makes the movie rock? cedric the entertainer who acts as the old ass guy who isn't afraid to talk abt his opinions n he mocks martin luther king, rosa parks all those who brought the civil rights movement to the forefront. its abt time we had ppl speak their minds w/o second guessing everything n wondering whether its politically right or wrong or watever. juz say watcha think. have an opinion. stick to it. back it up.

n don't be a sell-out. easier said den done though i gotta say. good movies though. love the humor!

ladies n gents the movie of the year goes to fahrenheit 9/11.

ok i admit the year isn't over yet but this movie is absolutely brilliant. esp if ur into US politics and the US in general. I agree with Bill Clinton every single american should watch this movie.

but i say not just every american but everyone should watch this movie unless of course u know diddly squat abt politics. it will open your mind. and if thot singapore politics was bad or any other country, a delve into the bush administration makes saddam look like an angel. the revelations shocked me.

i never realised the extent of the horror of the bush administration. it will definitely impact voting and i await in great anticipation of nov 2nd. celebrities have hailed this movie including drew barrymore, tom hanks and even madonna!

john kerry has a very strong chance all he has to do is build his platform. let the american people know how he will fare better as president.

michael moore i salute u for having made an award winning film (which is by the way banned in kuwait & singapore's female made a mistake by saying it was banned in the US which i find insulting by the way.) which goes against the norm. for standing up for what you believe in. for investigating and doing your best to shed some light which is more believable and shocking in the goings on in america. the media in the US is "independent"? my big fat ass. moore injects humor, skepticism and emotion into this documentary film. dammit its awesome so shut up n watch it already.

a definite MUST SEE movie!!

mona lisa smile.
enjoyed the movie. perhaps it made more sense coz we studied abt progressives in the US those who were more forward thinking in their time. sometimes we can't conform to what society or people around us expect us to be ot behave or think. we gotta stick to what we believe in n not compromise on that. its important that we not lose ourselves in a bid to conform.

i feel singapore is still very much like those who lived in the 50s in the US. its not juz my parents generation and my grandparents. sumtimes people around me say things that surprise me. it seems like they are indeed living in another time frame. perhaps it has been what they have been taught from young and never bothered to question their own beliefs and traditions.

does living behind in times make u any less of a person?
does living ahead of times make you more of a person?
or does it really matter at all?
i mean why let society dictate how much of a person you are?
is it not enough that you stand by your beliefs?

we have to support our beliefs everyday with people who question us. some escape that by not indulging in argument and juz shutting off any other opinions besides their own.
what is right and what is not? i know not. i simply realise that its food for thought.

You will never be strong enough
You will never be good enough
You were never conceived in love
You will not rise above

They'll never see
I'll never be
I'll struggle on and on to feed this hunger
Burning deep inside of me
-Lies by Evanscence-

I've been attempting to seek solace but I've never been particularly understood. perhaps i was always meant to be an outcast. always watching the fishbowl from the outside. the deep hunger to be totally and completely accepted. to actually belong somewhere will continue to burn within me.

funny how a word/sentence/incident can shatter ur world as u know it.
n u crave peace of mind.
u crave solace and u try to seek in different people and anything you can immerse yourself in but it simply eludes you.
till you are completely drained emotionally.

i've got no more energy to muster a smile or engage in small talk.
i care not to soothe your frivolous worries or make u feel good.
i simply crave solitude.
absolute solitude and a couple of sticks.
dats all i want n need.
no one can help.
i'm all alone on this one.

my spirit is dead juz let me be, please dun hold it against me.

two thumbs up for this movie! the storyline is similar to disturbing behavior but it has interjected wit n humor and a surprising twist at the end of the story. hated disturbing behavior it lacked sth. the stepford wives surprised me...good movie. definitely worth a watch!

its based on a novel if i'm not wrong. interesting though. if u could change someone to make them "perfect" would u? would u rather be married to a "perfect" spouse with robotised orgasms and perfect baking skills? to be in total control of everything?

freaky man. real downright freaky. but interesting thought though.
no more arguments. submissive folk...hmmm...

nah w/o passion what's the point?
