I have a penchant for sweet delights be it chocolate lava cakes or eye candy in my favorite tv show. I adore being a couch potato and my recent addiction is NCIS and The Big Bang Theory.

its been commented by a few that i haven't been online much recently. so den the inevitable qns is what have u been doing melissa? i'd say dats an awesome qns to which i have no reply. basically teeter tottering around the house n before u know it another day is over. no purpose in life rite now. i know i gotta get my ass ard to doing a bit for this damn fuckin proj..but its such a major bummer. i'm sure everyone knows what i mean. u tend to procrastinate the stuff which are major bummers duncha? yea well...dat goes doubly as much for me. procrastination the bane of my life.

anyway yesterday i watched this incredible italian movie called "malena" on arts central. all about this beautiful italian lady who was ostracized simply coz she was beautiful. not her fault. juz the way she was born. in today's society it is of course the opposite. if society deems u as "too skinny" "too fat" "too dark" "too fair" or otherwise know as "not normal" ur ostracized. and have to face this ridicule by society all by urself. who is society to dictate what is and isn't normal?

anyway thats not point. the point is the degree of malice GOSSIP holds. its indeed a terrible thing. having been thru it in a certain period of my life. it was searing to hear ppl u thot were close to u engage in such malice. gossip is not true. its the juiciness of it that makes ppl continue these stories from person to person. idle nature of a conversation also promotes gossip. we don't realise how hurting it is. when malena walked past everyone would be whispering and gossiping. it indeed a terrible feeling. a feeling that lingers till u can reach immense paranoia that everyone in the world is gossiping abt u.

malena's beauty made so many jealous they indulged in idle gossip which in turn made her such a destitute since no one wanted to give her a job or watever, that she was forced into prostitution. a truly sad thing. monica belluci plays the part magnificently. her eyelashes are truly gorgeous. the movie is seen thru the eyes of a young boy who idolizes her n follows her everywhere. the ending was nice. she ran away at first after being beaten n clobbered by the women in that town, her husband wasn't dead as they had initially presumed n he went to search for her (with the help of the boy) n brought her back to get her dignity back.
